We've been out of celular range for a few days, you may notice this by a surge of uploaded blogs and photos. Mt Hood has been a delight to wind our way around, we've chosen to camp a few nights in its national park. Gradually each day the sky has cleared and provided a better view of the summit. Today we made our way further North and took time out for a hike to Tamanawas Falls. What began as a slow winding path amongst dry creek beds eventually unveiled itself to be a spectacular sight even in Summer. With a vast open area to walk around we could make our way behind the falls. The thunder of water felt surreal from beneath the river. A good two hire hike made our day and gave plenty of photo opportunities.
We gathered some water at a nearby camping spot before checking out a potential National Park official camping facility. Alas, despite their being showers and toilets, we opted to not pay the $35 fee and instead, ventured further along a few dirt roads and chose another of our free camp spots in a small hide away beside a little creek. A little sad you have to pay so much to enjoy a lake at a national camping area, even day use cost $9. We dipped our toes in our private creek and settled in to a curry with rice for dinner.
Tomorrow we will make our way back towards town to collect supplies. At this stage we're thinking Portland in two days then up into Washington. We'll see how we go. So these few days we've spent many hours relaxing and typing, and relaxing and drawing. Heaven.
